Statement
Shirley Girdwood graduated with a BA(hons) in Drawing and painting from Dundee's' Duncan of Jordonstone School of Art, in 1988 and has been painting in oil and canvas ever since.
Glasgow born, Shirley represented Glasgow in the "Artists Exchange programme" with Nuremberg during Glasgows"City of Culture"celebrations and has twice been awarded the "Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Travelling Scholarship from Montreal.
Exhibiting throughout Scotland and abroad her most recent work draws inspiration from the unique landscape,light and mythology of the Outer Hebrides.
